Every Lions Gate project runs under a documented safety program, aligned with WorkSafeBC requirements in British Columbia and WSIB requirements in Ontario — from the first hazard assessment to the final walkthrough.

Our Program

A safety plan for every job, before it starts

Before a crew ever mobilizes, the site is assessed and a plan is put in writing.

  • Site-specific safety plan developed and reviewed before mobilization
  • Daily pre-task hazard assessments completed by crew leads
  • Regular site safety inspections and audits throughout the project
  • Subtrades required to follow our site safety protocols and carry active WorkSafeBC/WSIB coverage

Training

Crews trained before they set foot on site

Training isn't a one-time box to check — it's ongoing, and it's verified.

  • WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) training for all crew
  • Fall protection training for any work at height
  • First-aid certified personnel on every site
  • New-hire safety orientation completed before first day on site
  • Regular toolbox talks and safety refreshers throughout each project
On Every Site

Standard protective equipment, no exceptions

PPE requirements apply to every person on site — our crews, our subtrades, and site visitors alike.

  • Hard hats, safety glasses, and high-visibility clothing required at all times
  • Steel-toe boots and hearing/respiratory protection where the task requires it
  • Signed-in site access — no unescorted visitors on an active site
  • Equipment inspected before each use; hazard zones clearly marked

A near-miss reported today is an injury prevented tomorrow.

  • Near-miss and hazard reporting encouraged from every crew member
  • Formal incident investigation and corrective-action process for any injury or property damage
  • Findings reviewed and shared across crews to prevent repeat incidents
Compliance

Meeting the standard in both provinces

We operate under two different regulators, and we hold every site to both.

  • British Columbia projects: compliant with WorkSafeBC regulations
  • Ontario projects: compliant with WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) requirements
  • All subtrades and subcontractors required to maintain active coverage before starting work
